考点：句法结构+动词形式+修饰

难度：700

解析：主干：because一个原因状语从句，后面没有主句。原句Different than搭配不对，应该是different from，being修饰不简洁多余，after错误，应用现在完成时。

同理排除B,D.

E项 different from，since 1700s,正确。因为澳大利亚的许多有袋类动物，比如考拉，都很可爱，而且在生物性上和北美的有袋动物也所不同，自从它们在18世纪被发现以来，它们吸引了很多的关注。

AB as well as前后不平行 C 时态错误 since完成时 D after与have done错误 E 正确

考拉 are 形容词 1 and 形容词2 平行 cute and cuddly是形容词1 different 是形容词2 are cute and are being different显然不平行所以排除A,B 时态有since 用完成时/完成时用since不用after 排除CD 所以只有E了

different from和than 的用法都是对的一个英式一个美式，自己去翻下牛津字典，这么都不查就误导别个瞎排除

本质其实是在考since和after的用法，since是代表持续的用完成时比较好，排除BC过去时，ADE对比，since their discovery/after their discovery，after只能用于某一节点上发生的事情，并未持续至今，而since表示现在人们还是很喜欢考拉，故选E

AB being表示状态的这种表达很awkward，基本上是错误的，不优选没有different than的这种搭配

ok 从意思上来理解 as well as 也可以作为介词表达的意思是除什么之外和besides ， in addition to 相同后面加动名词所以B 用法没错就是表达的意思不对没有递进的意思就是 as well as 作连词表达并列的意思是因为这两个原因吸引关注
