His energy, vision and engineering genius must excite the admiration of any engineer - it certainly did mine. admiration for Admiration for the way in which she put the case to us. 你这道题目肯定应该用for，因为是RT崇拜Ghanti；如果用of那就是Ghanti崇拜RT，反了。当然这道题不认识idiom也能作对，是个parallelism的问题。

平行。 A：the person and also as a politician， and前后一个是名词一个是介词短语，错误。Admiration for sb.仰慕某人。had been 的时态不对，事情发生在过去，只用过去时就可以。 B: 正确。 C: not only as ..., but was also 不平行。 D: admiration of 不合理。Admiration for sb.仰慕某人，排除。as a person and as also a politician错误，also应该放在but后面。 E: admiration of 不合理。not only as a person, but had also been 不平行，错误。had been 的时态不对，事情发生在过去，只用过去时就可以。

句意：孟加拉出生的作家、哲学家和教育家泰戈尔对莫罕达斯·k·甘地和他作为政治家的身份最钦佩，但泰戈尔对甘地的民族主义形式和他对印度文化传统的保守观点持怀疑态度。思路分析：1.发现差异在句首的for/of，句中的not only but also/as...and... but，句尾的was/was also,根据句意应该是泰戈尔对甘地的崇拜，所以排除of DE 2.not only...but also表示并列关系，文中先扬后抑，所以是转折关系，应该用but，排除CE 3.and also表意重复，had been过去完成时，没必要使用，不存在动作的先后关系，该动作也没有一直持续下去，排除A 4.将B代入原文，没有发现问题

如果表达转折，B选项不能有also。C选项的not only...but also放进去句意很别扭
