D的found为什么不能是修饰前面的sloth？这个和A有什么区别？

选D A选项，句子主干fossils made it the earliest mammal，逻辑语义错误，应该是化石在34 million years之前就被发现这整件事made it the earliest mammal，而fossil。 BCE选项，fossils作主语，谓语动词应该用复数。 D选项，正确。

1.ACD appear as + NOUN；appear to+do；固定搭配用法排除ACD； 2.E for facing不如to face表目的 3.B appear to后面原本的时态其实是had been，发生在灭绝extincted之前，这里因为to的缘故才变成了have；B没问题

RON "It", in choice A, is fine. The meaning of the modifier is clear from context, so the modifier is fine too. The biggest problem in choice A is that the sentence is nonsense. Taken literally, choice A states that the fossils made the sloth the oldest known mammal on the island. That's not true; the fossils themselves certainly didn't do that. The dating of the fossils did that.
