我选的E 现在看来我觉得错误原因是both sth and sth 那这两个要平行但是tradition of someone 和someone 不能平行

both in... and in... 因为and后面没有in，所以有both的3个A B E选项全部排除 yet是连词，前面需要是完整主谓宾句子，排除C

因为前半句the stride-piano tradition of Willie (The Lion) Smith 前面有in 而and后面的后半句Duke Ellington前面没有in ，所以有both必错，应为无法平行。有的时候我们要从横线外的句子中获取到信息。所以ABE排除。 yet是连词，所以前面必须是一句完整的话，所以C排除。只能选D
