句子结构：双破折号属于插入语，添加之后对其他部分的句子结构不造成任何影响。因此将这一部分删去后考察句子结构，发现“heirloom tomatoes appear less appetizing……”与“heirlooms are more flavorful……”两个主谓结构之间没有任何分句连接词，因此这两个结构的连接方式有问题。

双破折号的插入语在解释说they are often green and striped…，所以前面应该主要是在描述heirloom tomatoes的长相，插入语之后的句子才是主句内容，所以插入语前面的只能用从句或者修饰语。

补充理解：C: heirloom tomatoes, grown from seeds... 在后面后面作为同位语没必要，直接当主语就好了，不然容易歧义以为是supermarket cousins的就近同位语

A 逻辑错误，原句语义应为：虽然heirloom tomatoes，用前一年保存的种子种植的，比其他西红柿看起来没有食欲——青色有条纹磕磕碰碰的——但是heirloom更好吃所以需求增加。

破折号后面的they并不是指cousins,因为这个they后面接着的修饰内容是“green and striped”,而cousins在前面已经有了修饰，就是“round and red”，所以句意本身形成的对比是supermarket cousins 是又圆又红的，而h tomatoes则是绿色有瘀的，所以做题的重点在于要找出能把破折号后面的they和h tomatoes能够对上的选项。因此综合选项：A—缺谓语；B—把中间修饰省略主句为“Although h tomatoes……they”，可以对上，正确；C—主角缺谓语；D—句子tone变更；E：主句缺谓语。

问一个题外话，想知道为什么是grown而不是growing？HT不应该是主动发出生长这个动作吗？

grow 也有做直接及物动词表示使生长和种植这里用的应该是这个词性

感觉这里的grown是在描述一个状态，就是已经完成成长的状态

首先根据they are often green and striped判断，前面肯定是cousins，不可能是year,排除AC 再来，从句也有主谓宾的，所以E排除 D：逻辑都给变了，没有了让步的意思，也错
