The intricate structure 做主语说明后面的help应该用三单，排除A,D B选项having...伴随状语是修饰 the intricate structure, 不符合题意，因为它修饰的应该是the compound insect eye并且后文的they不能指代前面的eye，所以排除B。 C选项they也不能指代eye 所以排除 E选项正确。

指代问题在gmat里，作为排除选项的优先级低 不要随便以指代不清排除，除非是单复数不对应，或者根本没有可指代的先行词

更重要的是 E 中代词！！！
代词不能指代插入语成分 因此只能用it 去指代最前面的 “结构”

B和e的差别：假如你确实不知道用having还是with，那么这个时候，你不看“having”引导的从句（因为是插入语，结构上可以忽略），那么句子的主语很明显是intricate structure，所以后面assumed that 肯定是接it而不是they，毕竟structure是单数主语。所以选d.

having在这里不对，因为应该是insect有XX，而不是structure有XXX，用having产生了错误的意思。 注意 逗号+ ving 的结构，优先修饰的是主语，而不是其最近的名词。无逗号+ving的形式才可以修饰其最近的名词。 scientists’ assuming that 表达不好。
