E的are to 是有问题的吧，然后就是这个地方的that是不是也有点奇怪，既然是想修饰的是plans，是不是直接跟在plans后面更好。如果是修饰性从句，Wednesday也是名词，这样的是不简洁的。

好像自己又没错，E中的by selling 的修饰对象不如D中的明确。E如果简化修饰语后就成了executive announced plans Wednesday by selling nearly $12 billion in assets over the next 18 months。明显错误。 或者只能修饰to cut...也是明显错误

应该是逻辑和原文不一样了，原文里面逻辑是plan的目的是cut debt，但是E选项里面是Cut debt的plan，虽然意思差不多，但是这个逻辑是不一样的

曼哈顿讲代词的一章里提到过所有格不能做主语，排除ABC; 也可以根据同位语outlining...来判断发出动作的主语是人不是plan而排除ABC

回去翻了曼哈顿pronoun那一章，没有提到所有格不能做主语呀，楼主是不是看错了？而且outlining...不是同位语，是状语noun modifier，通过状语判断发出动作的主语是人 排除ABC

开头的outlining 引导伴随状语，其动作在逻辑上应该由主语发出。而plans 是无法发出outlining这一动作的，故排除ABC。 E的后半句，plans为that引导的定语从句的逻辑主语，that are to cut...暗示cutting和selling的动作都是plans发出的。而D选项的不定时结构可以清楚的表明plans的目的，故优于E。
