这里的citrus是泛指，应该是单身，就比如the apple store is the only place to buy an apple laptop. 这里的laptop就是一个泛指，一个单数。所以ABC排除。D中if不对，不是假设，他就是一个方式。所以选E

rot指腐烂（n）、使腐烂（v）是weather rot the fruit所以fruit是被rot they rot不对，应该是they will be rotted，因此A不对 不知道是不是这样

Way to do is to do 排除了B C D; Citrus后面的谓语单复数都看到过，作柑橘属是一个整体可以用单数; 为题应该出在后半句，原文逻辑应该更倾向于表达在暖天气到来之前使水果腐烂，而不是表达当暖天气到来的时候在水果腐烂之前。中文习惯应该也是这样，before更应该是修饰暖天气。。。。
