主语 El Niño，谓语没有。从原文还可以看出El Niño，the periodic abnormal warming和phenomenon三个名词连用，已经超出了两个名词连用作为同位语关系的正常用法。所以根据这个还可以排除BC。DE比较D in which 修饰phenomenon，E用where，显然这里考定状不分，D比较合适，D选项也没有什么其他问题，因此选D选项。
